Back Page - A Dog and His Boy

How many stories have there been about a boy or a girl and their faithful friend, the family dog. How many Hollywood plots have centered around this theme? Lassie, Rin Tin Tin (for you older folks), Old Yeller, Beethoven, The Biscuit Eater and K-9.

In spite of a few broken vases and muddy paw prints and skinned knees the companionship of a small child and a dog is a marvelous sequence in life. The child is not fully in charge of events yet but the dog doesn't care. The dog is not always sure what is happening but the child doesn't care.

So here is a Back Page dedicated to that faithful companion the Family Dog and its favorite companion, the kid.

THE KIDS Lesson one. It is always a mystery how a photograph of any of these precious children could end up lost or abandoned. Here are a few. You will probably say "Ooh..." at least once.
