Back Page - Big Hats

Woman with Hat

While collecting photographs for the
HATS page,
where everyone in the picture is wearing a hat, I realized there is a good category also for just
BIG HATS!
Here is a collection of photographs where at least one person is wearing a hat that is just too big, or jst too something...

  1. Love them all! I have several "big hat" vintage images myself. I love collecting ones that have such interesting fashion. It's like a peek into their social and financial status!

  2. Yes it is a peek into different times and standards. I hope you pose yours on Flickr so I can see them.

  3. What a fabulous collection. Looking at these makes me think that people with a certain panache can get away with wearing just about any hat, and that big hats and tailored clothing don't go together. The young woman standing in front of the fence is hauntingly beautiful. I also like the woman standing next to the car and the one (with panache!) in the chair. Thanks so much for posting these.

  4. Thanks very much. You’ve picked some of my favorites too. The woman standing with the car is from an album of 28 photographs that I rescued three years ago. She stands out as a happy person in every picture that she is in. I assembled a page of just the photographs found in her album. It is here: http://lostgallery.blogspot.com/2007/10/laura.html.
