  1. These are all so wonderful. Especially fond of those first two of the kids. And I'm always amazed by photos of masses of people at a beach. I've never fully understood this sort of mass beach mentality. I always think of photos of Coney Island in the summer. It's so far removed from how I've ever experienced going to the beach. Wonderful shots!

  2. Thanks. Yes, the children look as if they are anxious to get on with the business of playing on the beach.

    My experiences with the beach have been mostly rather solitary too. Coney Island, according to photographs I have seen, is quite populated during the summer season. I have heard crowded beach stories of futile attempts just to find a place to sit down on the sand. I don’t understand it either.

    These shots are mostly card mounted and were perhaps rejects from the photographer’s stock that didn’t get sold.
