Back Page - The Signs

Girl with no dogs sign

What makes them do it? Why do they pose next to signs? It's usually some attempt at humor probably. But then, sometimes it's just coincidence.

You know ... I think this is the SAME SIGN! From completely separate batches of found photographs. Even the shadows are in the same place.

Again from completely separate batches of found photographs, but this is the NOT the same sign. It's just the same pose.

Sepia Saturday - Signs

For this Sepia Saturday suggestion we have a photograph of some old buildings featuring several signs.

So today for Sepia Saturday, lets look at some photographs from around the gallery that feature a sign somewhere in the picture.

Amelia knew there would be talk. But she loved the sign anyway.

People use signs to establish where they were when the picture was snapped.

US State Border signs and monuments are a prime location for a tourist snap just to say: We were here!

Especially Texas, it seems.

At first glance these seem like all the same sign. They are not. They are apparently from different highways leading into Texas.

Colorado and Pike's Peak is another popular destination.

And last, here is a tattered photograph found in an "antique" mall in Texas. The sign in the photograph led me on a fascinating trail of details and discovery. Here is a bit of the story of the fire at the Crazy Drug Company.

The "Crazy Drug Company"? Who wouldn't be curious?

One final parting shot ...

Yeah

So now, to get back to the Sepia Saturday home page you turn around here and follow the signs and see where they take you. Just follow the signs. You can't miss it.
