Very often, notations on the reverse of these found photographs are obscure or too brief or illegible. Most often there is nothing at all.
But now and then there is a message from the past that sparkles.
Back in March of 2009 LOST GALLERY had a full page of photographs and their very interesting reverse sides. There have been many new additions to the collection since then.
Here is a new group of those photographs with mysterious, funny and sometimes puzzling reverse sides; tiny bits of history, reaching out to us over the decades and sometimes centuries.
After a little research this is my own speculation as to the identities of the people in the portrait.

een lookin
Including black album page backing cropped from portrait side.
"een lookin" is probably a caption for a photo just above that is no longer there. It probably has nothing to do with the photo on the reverse side of the page.
Partial photo apparently sacrificed to trim out the photo booth portrait on the other side of the page.
On reverse:

I took this on top of Dean Hill

It is over 50 years ago my brother & I used to have to
sit on this bridge to keep the pigs in the meadows
there was no tree there then, this is the river Test and
father had the meadows on both sides for nearly a mile
notice the tall steel tower erected recently to carry the
high power electric wires, these go clear through to
Bristol and I suppose electric light will eventually
be available in Lockerley and in fact all villages
along where these pylons are erected. times change
even in the villages, that tree makes me feel old
there was no sign of it when I sat there in summer
holidays, minding the pigs and cows. Rob

THE KIDS
It is always a mystery
how a photograph of any
of these precious children
could end up lost
or abandoned.
Here are a few.
