This week the Sepia Saturday Suggestion appears to be about weddings. That could be an easy one. One of the occasions in life where cameras are almost always included is a wedding. But, wedding pictures are not cast out or abandoned as much as photographs of other occasions. Somebody wants to keep them. It's one of the few times that both parents appear in the same frame, so wedding pictures are often treasured down through generations.
But, LOST GALLERY does have a few abandoned photographs taken apparently on a wedding day. So for this Sepia Saturday, lets look at some photographs taken probably at or after that special occasion.
Hi Ma! Who's the dude?
Mom forgot to tell junior about her plans for the day.
Now march back down the aisle back to the
Sepia Saturday home page.

Area 51 and a Half You are probably not authorized to see these.
Don't take my picture! Oh! You DID didn't you! This is a collection of photographs that disappear on the way home from the photo processing shop.

THE KIDS It is always a mystery how a photograph of any of these precious children could end up lost or abandoned. Here are a few. You will probably say "Ooh..." at least once.
Dee and the Business School The beautiful Dee. A curious story; What do you see?
WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? "What are they doing?"
As usual, your post is fun & interesting. I love Delta's spectator pumps - most likely because I'm very fond of spectator pumps!
ReplyDeleteThanks La Nightingale. While wearing spectacular pumps, Delta's body language seems to indicate a bit of boredom.
DeleteGreat examples of the different styles of wedding photos. The creepy back-light bride was not one destined to be framed for the mantlepiece.
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike Brubaker. I can't believe the photographer set that up on purpose. I prefer to think the flash didn't fire. Spooky.
DeleteI wonder if the man in that first photo is the creepy brother in law rather than the groom? "Delta" does not look comfortable at all!
ReplyDeleteThanks Sharon! That must be it! The creepy brother in law; now that makes sense.
DeleteA great selection of photographs! I love all the different looks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucy. Quite a range.
DeleteYou can always learn something - I'd never heard of 'Spectator pumps' before - how do they get their name? do they make you tall enough so you can seeover everyone else at the races?
ReplyDeleteThanks genepenn. Now there's an angle I hadn't thought of.
DeletePoor little boy who wasn't even invited to the wedding...but he does look like trouble. Step dads take some getting used to!
ReplyDeleteThanks B. Rogers. Yes he does look a bit mischievous. And yes, step-dads do require a little work sometimes.
DeleteFun photos here especially the spooky one and the boy in the dungarees.
ReplyDeleteThanks Bob Scotney, Yes, those two are particularly odd. The boy in dungarees is my favorite.
DeleteHA -- would never have thought about the black mat around a wedding photo until you pointed it out. Now I'm wondering how that marriage worked out.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy. I have seen lots of photographs with black mats but never a wedding photograph. Maybe it was an omen, we may never know. Sometimes someone recognizes an ancestor looking out from the pages of LOST GALLERY and we learn all about the circumstances and how the photograph got there.
DeleteJust admiring your work and wondering how you managed this blog so well. It’s so remarkable that I can't afford to not go through this valuable information whenever I surf the internet! CT wedding photographer
