For some, an old photograph loses its charm when "restored" to modern day clarity with all the age spots removed. Some photographs however, benefit greatly from just a nudge of enhancement. An improved contrast or the reversal of the yellowing brings out details that otherwise would have been missed and lost forever.
To please both camps of those of us who rescue old photographs, here are both the originals and the enhanced of just a few of the latest additions to Lost Gallery.

THE KIDS
It is always a mystery how a photograph of any of these precious children could end up lost or abandoned. Here are a few. You will probably say "Ooh..." at least once.
Dee and the Business School
The beautiful Dee. A curious story; What do you see?
WHAT'S GOING ON HERE?
"What are they doing?"
I really like these "before and after" photos. What photo editing program do you use? I have considered getting Photoshop Elements for a long time but am afraid of the learning ramp up time. Or I guess I am really just afraid of change. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Teresa. I use Photoshop CS6. I don't really do very much to the photographs except remove the yellow and sometime increase the contrast. I think Elements will do this too but I have never used it so I can't say for sure.
ReplyDeleteBeing afraid of change has its benefits too. One really feels good when a change is actually made.
The Lady 5th photo down is very attractive!
ReplyDeleteIts one of the things I enjoy about scanning old photos (especially the tiny ones) Tweaking & adjusting them.It feels to me like bringing them back to Life somehow.
Splendid Photos As Usual Sir!
Thanks Tony. Yes, I enjoy discovering things hidden by age and damage. Old photographs tell many stories especially when details emerge with just a little adjustment.
