The Sepia Saturday Suggestion
for this week hints at the
Laundry Day!
So today, let's review the laundry that is piled up in LOST GALLERY!
My friend over at Tattered and Lost suggested this for a LOST GALLERY category back in 2010.

THE KIDS It is always a mystery how a photograph of any of these precious children could end up lost or abandoned. Here are a few. You will probably say "Ooh..." at least once.
Dee and the Business School The beautiful Dee. A curious story; What do you see?
WHAT'S GOING ON HERE? "What are they doing?"
I enjoyed all these images and I’m still amazed that the laundry features in so many photographs in the past. As for the Henson photograph, well, let me explain...........
ReplyDeleteI guess it was because every household had a clothesline and if you were in the back yard taking pictures, it was hard to miss catching the laundry or at least a close line pole. And, no explanation really needed...
DeleteLove little Dixie's thought bubble. All the photos are entertaining. I'll throw in my towel with the others and declare that my favorite is, ahem, Henson.
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen Bauch McHargue. Dixie and Henson are certainly popular ... for different reasons.
DeleteI love those Dixie photographs! Where do they come from?
ReplyDeleteThanks Jo Featherston. The Dixie pictures came from a junk shop purchase back in 2008.
DeleteI love the child's understanding of how many clothespins it takes to hold up a pair of underwear.
ReplyDeleteThanks Wendy. Yes, I thought that was a subtle bit of humor. Not everyone catches it.
DeleteYou've nailed this category. So many I just love! Hanging laundry in a bathing suit. Priceless. And yes, the cowboy is perfect. And the guy next to him thinking, "What's so great about that cowboy? All hat, no cows."
ReplyDeleteThanks Tattered and Lost. It was your idea! This collection has grown a bit since 2010. And yes, I 'm not cure about hanging laundry in a bathing suit either. The cowboy has had nearly 7,000 hits over on Flickr. He does sort of connect with the snapshot next to him.
DeleteLaundry. Everyone has it. Got to wash that dirty linen, hang it on the line, and let the neighbors to gawp at it. Or in this case, strangers on the internet.
DeleteThanks again for the help on identifying my band photo this weekend.
Thanks Mike Brubaker. I'm sure the expression "airing the dirty linen in public" was grounded in the laundry day. I'm glad I was able to help with the ID on the band. That's probably a rather rare photograph as I could not find another anywhere.
