The Post War Photographs - Page 01

On this page are collected the highlights of the second book of negatives found in the basement of a flea market in Texas.

It was post war and the photographer apparently wandered about England as an ordinary tourist. In this group the photographer often took many frames of the same scene or subject. Presented here will be only the best of the series. Some frames have accompanying descriptions and these will be included here.

For a review of the entire 205 negatives, go HERE.

THE KIDS Lesson one.
It is always a mystery how a photograph of any of these precious children could end up lost or abandoned. Here are a few. You will probably say "Ooh..." at least once.

  1. Great photos. I like the fish market ones. The pub signs for Schlitz and Michelob are unexpected though!

    1. Thanks Mike Brubaker. The photographer's subject matter changed dramatically from the first book. These were obviously taken post-war, on a tourist trip before he left for home.

    2. I hadn't thought of that but it would explain the relaxed almost peaceful quality of the snaps. There will never be another summer like that one in 1945. (We hope!)
