Those Talking Pictures - Dorothy Parker said ...

Okay, Mommy. I'll sit here. Just stay in sight.

This place smells funny. I can't see Dolly.

Is this going to tickle? What's that noise?

That light scares me. Can I hold Dolly now?

Are you sure?

Back Page - The Office

A fellow abandoned-photograph-rescuer over at ONE MAN’S TREASURE wrote and posted a fine page about the look of the office in old photographs, illustrated of course with found photographs of office environments with a man at a desk.

A fine idea for a category! I looked through the Lost Gallery collection for things related to work and the office and stacked up a few examples. Since I don’t have as many fine examples of just a man sitting at a desk, I expanded the category to include office equipment and paperwork.

Those Talking Pictures - Up a Tree

After a long and profitable career in counterfeit soap bars and pop bottle top hoarding, Willard and Daphne Carcoat were finally apprehended hiding out in the kitchen of the house were they had lived for more than 60 years.

Sheriff Helmunt Fleetwood and his deputy Rover (coatless) had no patience with the system and volunteered to shoot the prisoners on the spot. He was assured the ruthless counterfeiters would get a fair trial and the criminal's shoes would go to the sheriff anyway.
